Molly Ross

Artist, Academic, Puppeteer

Molly is an artist and academic working in the field of cultural performance including puppetry and parades. She is founder of  NANA PROJECTS a multidisciplinary nonprofit inventing innovative artwork that draws people together in public spaces, strengthening their sense of community identity through shared cultural experience.  Ross’ eclectic background includes training in theater, puppetry, circus arts and sculpture.  She received a BS from Northwestern University in theater and an MFA in sculpture from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.  She has served as an adjunct faculty member at Maryland Institute College of Art in the Interdisciplinary  Sculpture Department for six years teaching puppetry, performance and community art.

In 2010 she recieved the prestigious UNIMA-USA Citation of Excellence for the Shadow Puppet Performance Alonzo's Lullaby.
